With a keen eye to designing knitwear that is easy to make, but looks complex, Elise Duvekot is offering sweaters, socks, mittens, and a hat! She has been published often in Knitter's Magazine , as well as other periodicals, and one of her designs from the top down graces the the front of the reprint of Barbara Walker's book Knitting From the Top.

  Elise Duvekot’s Patterns

Simple Sampler

Intermediate. This cute cotton sweater can be knit with short or long sleeves, and is reversible front to back. The optional lacy collar at the neckline echoes the trim at the bottom edge and sleeves. It is a sampler sweater because the front, back, and each sleeve is done in a different stitch pattern. The sweater can be worn with either side toward the front for a different look.

Yarn: DK weight cotton
Sizes: Ladies' small, medium, large, and extra-large

Starry Sky Sweater

Intermediate. The yoke of this sweater is done in a slip stitch pattern which looks like tiny stars. There is a beautiful herringbone braid trim which graces the cuff, neckline, bottom band, and shoulder line. The sweater is knit from the top down without seams. As is typical of Elise's designs, it is very simple to make and looks lovely.

Yarn: heavy worsted weight
Sizes: Ladies' small, medium, large, and extra-large

Stained Glass Socks

Intermediate. These intricate looking two-color socks are so easy to knit! Only one color is used in any one round! And by using a variegated yarn as one of the two yarns, this sock takes on even more interest!

Gauge: 8.5 sts/inch.
Yarn: fingering weight sock yarn or Guernsey yarn
Sizes: Child Small (shoe sizes 3-7), Child Large (shoe sizes 8-13), Adult Small, Adult Large

Salt and Pepper Sweater

Intermediate. This is a lovely sweater, and knitted from the top down. The yoke is worked in the salt and pepper pattern, and a two-color herringbone braid divides the yoke from the plain stockinette stitch body below. The braid is also worked at the cuff, the bottom of the sweater, and at the neckline, creating a sturdy but feminine look.

Yarn: heavy worsted weight
Sizes: Ladies' small, medium, and large

Salt and Pepper Socks

Intermediate. These socks are knitted with a 2 color herringbone braid and a salt and pepper heel and toe. The basic sock is very easy to knit, so these different patterns add lots of interest while making and wearing the socks!

Gauge: 5 stitches/ inch.
Yarn: heavy worsted weight
Sizes: Toddler, Small Child, Large Child, Small Woman, Man

Salt and Pepper Hat and Mitts

Intermediate. The tip of these mittens is patterned in salt and pepper, while the wrist is adorned with the herringbone braid. The hat cuff is worked in salt and pepper, while the herringbone braid is worked at the crease of the hat.

Gauge: 4.5 stitches/inch.
Yarn: worsted or heavy worsted weight
Sizes: Ladies' medium

Easy. This matching hat and sweater set is the perfect garb for the little elf in your life. The buttoned placket makes it easy to pull over the heads of wriggly children, and still affords a snug fit.
